Jericho enjoys a solid, exciting and continually unfolding partnership with the Jairus Agency. An agency formed in 2001 to reach out to court referred youth. Often youth finding themselves in difficult times are referred to the Jairus Agency from local police, probation or diversion personnel in the courts. Jairus offers various programs to help the youth, including anger management classes and a 12 step specifically designed for teens. Many first time offenders are given mandated “sentences” of community service obligations. The Jairus Agency works with the youth, fitting them into meaningful community service volunteer work. They are often partnered with caring adult mentors who help instill positive values and encouragement into these young lives. Many young people have discovered sincere appreciation for their community as well as themselves in the process.
