the hub

The "HUB" is a fulfillment of a dream, carried in the hearts of many, which began in the year 2000 with a concept to have a real "downtown hub" - a place to join together with others and express our love for people. This realized vision captures the very heart of Matthew 25 where Jesus spoke about serving others, and challenges us to reach out in tangible ways to meet the needs of our community. The fulfillment of this dream has been made possible because of the generous investment of time, expertise, passion, and finances of numerous individuals and organizations.

The HUB building is dedicated to the life and memory of Billy Byrne, a Middleboro youth who forever remind us of the unending work to be done.

The HUB houses...

A Community Resource Office - established to provide direction and assistance for those new in the area or anyone in need of services. Private appointments are made for families and individuals seeking assistance. The office is staffed by volunteers and open weekday mornings to receive calls, set up appointments and connect people to available services. Currently, we are serving people in Middleboro and neighboring Lakeville and referring residents of other towns to service providers in their area.

The Jairus Agency - striving to reduce juvenile delinquency through prevention methods and intervention efforts, while also providing opportunity for restitution through community service. Youths discover the benefits of giving, while learning to value themselves and their community through proven strategies and modeled behaviors. More info... www.jairus.org

Middleboro Youth Advocates (MYA) - a coalition of community leaders, business owners, parents, youth, clergy, and other concerned citizens who are dedicated to promoting positive values and strengths in our youth through proven strategies. More info... www.middleboroyouthadvocates.com
